The COncert

Okay, So they started the concert like all the other ones, with lots of music and lights going everywhere with no boys...getting us all excited and anxious...the only difference? We've been waiting FIVE YEARS for this...not just one or two. We are PUMPED, the crowd is going wild, especially after a mini-appearance of Brian and Baylee at the side of the stage 30 minutes ago...we're ready to rock the night away. lol.

They come out with a massive flash of light and walk down the stairs and begin singing "The Call", fabulous. Now we know they are gonna pump out the oldies as well as the newbies...the excitement rises, cause I know I was a bit worried we wouldn't get that many old ones...and man, we totally did. So after that they jump into "My beautiful Woman" which makes everyone ecstatic cause this song is great. They are boppin' all over the place, very high energy. I can't describe the level of excitement, I know most people who have been before know that the first couple songs are so hyped cause we've been waiting so long (haha) and we just can't hold it back no more...but this concert was beyond that. We've been waiting longer than usual and many of us thought we'd never make it to another show...so this was a moment of absolute joyful excitement. If you still have to go to a show...lap up the energy. its great.

THe boys then sing "more than that" without much pause, which at first seemed out of place with the quick pace of the previous songs, but it was perfect. A moment for the fans to relax and sing along instead of scream until they are blue in the face. My fave part by far is Brian's solo near the end after the chorus of "I will love you more than that...." in his beautiful Brian voice...made me melt into the floor. Seriously. That was the other thing, the guys, with all the dancing, are literally dripping in sweat, especially Nick...lol. They must have forgotten the Canadian summer heat when they chose their jeans and such to wear on stage.

Nick then came on stage with a guitar, and the other boys seemed to disapear except Brian (I'm sure they were there, but my focus was well...focused. lol). And he started playing a bit of a song, and Brian asked us if we recognized and sort of joked around for a few minutes. It was hard to understand what htey were saying, because in all honesty the quality of sound at the ampitheatre is not great. But quickly I realised they were playing the beginning of climbing the walls, which I'll say was exciting. ANother new song...ooohhh.. Nick started playing, they all came out and sang. Lovely. Just absolutely lovely. From that they moved on to Shape of My Heart, and you know, we all just love the oldies. THe ones like this the crowd is just singing away, everyone is just sooo happy, and I think still a little in shock about being back at a bsb show so when they ran off stage and played a video I think most people took a moment to register the reality of being at a show. Its weird, because it did all seem pretty surreal now that we're all so much older. When the video finished, the guys came back out, changed and ready to rock some more.

THey started the next section with I Still (Howie's fave song to sing...other htan backstreets back). And well, imagine how lovely the song would be live...it was just that great. The guys have done a great job on this album and hearing it live is wonderful. Next: I want it that way, and Show me the Meaning. Again, brings out the old-school bsb love...and we loved it. Larger than Life...Great, they danced (I love the dancing) and its awsome cause its just hte boys (no dancers) So you can see them dancing well (instead of getting confused with all the other dancers on stage). I loved it.

Siberia...WOW> BRian stood at the top of the stairs and sang...If "thats what she said" brought tears to your eyes...this will make your heart stop. I was frozen just listening, and then halfway through the song (after AJ sings) They have "snow flurries" come down which makes everything glisten on stage and once again, its all very dreamlike and surreal, but wonderful. That is by far one of my fave songs and hearing it live makes it a million times better. I'm glad they chose after this song to take another break...cause everything seemed to be going very quickly and Siberia needed a few moments to settle. lol. They played We've got it goin' on, with concert shots and such on the big screen, it was great. IT was a good way to pass the "outfit changes" instead of just background music and screaming, lol. They planned this show very well and it paid off greatly. The crowd at this point is still ecstatic and singing/dancing in full swing. I think there was more of a 'connection' between fans cause we've all grown up and were less "egoistic" if thats the right word...but more aware of the other people...and aware of how awsome it was to be with so many fans all in one place.

They come back out with :All I Have to Give, As Long As You Love Me and I'll Never Break Your Heart. YOu can only imagine the joy. lol. I'll never break your heart is a song I never really expected to hear live again, so I was extremly happy, I mean these songs are as good as gold, and you can tell the boys really love performing them. All I have to Give involved the hats and dancing (as it used to and should) and it was great. It was soooo classic. The Toronto Sun said they did this stuff "just to prove they still can", I think they did it because they know we know that they still can, and they KNOW we LOVE IT. I mean, its like Madonna singing Material Girl at a concert, its SOOO CLassic, they weren't proving anything other than this show and tour is ALL FOR THE FANS, and its easy to see that this is the case.

They then introduced "Just Want You To Know" as the new single and told us to request it as much as we can and then sang it, it rocked, it was loud, this is when the pyrotechnics were at their best. I mean for the first chorus (and all after it) when you get the part that you just sing at the top of your lungs in your car "nights that never end...AND I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW" The stage lights up with fire and booms with pyro. Its great. Its more than great, its monumental. lol.

Then they sing Crawling back to you, with Brian starting out again (you can tell he's my fave) but oh man...melting all over again with the "every body knows" and "I know I broke your heart...didn't mean to break your heart" wowza. My brain was mush, and my heart was screaming "MARRY ME!" haha. Luckily the words didn't escape or I'd get some looks from my friend. haha. When Nick sings his part, equally as great, I'm not as big of a Nick fan, but I have to say: This concert deffinately shows off his talent. Howie too. Man, HOWIE D, YOU ARE HOT. lol. He was never my fave boy (sorry) but now, he's moved up...he's just so dreamy now.

THen the boys sing Drownin' and Quit Playin' Games, again these classics get everyone pumped cause I'm sure many of us never dreamed of hearing them in concert again. And while many old fans wish they'd sing some of the less popular old songs (me being one of them), hearing old songs of any type is great and reminds you of why you've loved them for SOOOOO LONG.

Next: Video of Never Gone. While I cant say anything bad, the song is great, and the video stuff is cool. THE CD AND THE TOUR ARE CALLED NEVER GONE:::: SING IT LIVE!!!!! Argh. I mean, Poster Girl, I love the song, but can live without it. I have no idea why they chose to not sing this song for us. It just seems very out of place to only play it in video form. But I guess we will have to survive and hope to hear it some other time. lol.

Last two songs: Weird World and Incomplete. They bring out the Piano and Kevin "tickles the ivories" while the boys sit around and sing along, Weird world was good, lots of good Big Screen shots of Nick beside each boy as he bobbed around singing. A bit of fooling around goin' on. I got a good vid clip of this song near the end with the random "weird world baby" stuff. I love it.
THen Incomplete: WOW and WOW and WOW WOW WOW. Several times they held their mics to the audience and I swear we were singing louder than the boys were. It was beyond amazing. At old shows you could sort of hear the crowd singing, but could easily confuse parts of songs/lyrics etc because it wasn't super loud or clear. This was like Professional choir of many singing all at once. It was sooo clear. I have a vid/sound clip of it, and I can only guess how great the guys must feel hearing us sing like that. It was a great last song (not including encore) and again, the connection between fans was so strong, we were all just so happy to be a part of it all.

THen they disapear *sniff* but the lights stay out and we scream and yell and bang like mad, so they of course come out for the encore. haha.

Backstreets Back: But not right away, they start with this little "shake ya ass" dance thing to music that has me in awe cause I LOVE LOVE LOVE them dancing around and then AJ comes out of nowhere with "Oh my god we're back again" and I almost fell over I was so happy. By far their best fast song, and its the one they end with. THey do their little Backstreets back dance (that I'm sure we all know the steps to) they sing loud and proud, the crowd goes wild, fireworks etc going off...making everyone sooooo high off the the energy its simply mad.

Then its over, and you can barely believe that you were there for two hours, cause it suddenly feels like two minutes passed and it was amass jumble of excitement. lol.

Moments: At one point someone bounces a beach ball off anothers head I can't remember for the life of me which boys, but it was pretty funny. haha. I laughed.
Poster Girl: *SNIFF* Love the song! So Sad it wasn't on the set.
Complaint: (I always have to have one) MERCHANDISE PRICES::: WTF?!?!?! IT was $45 for a TSHIRT! The only way I'd pay that is if the boy ssigned it and made out with it or something, cause that is WAY too much for a tshirt, I was disapointed
Happyness: You can buy beer at the show. haha. I had to do, it just to say I did. Although you can't bring it into the stadium.

Anyway, thats about it from me. Not really a review but more of a memory moment. lol.
PS: Glad no one was hurt from the plane crash at Pearson. It was a shock to hear about it, although the weather was TERRIBLE and we ended up AT the airport because we literally could not see signs (not couldn't read them, but couldn't even see them) I couldn't see my own headlights it was raining so hard, Glad it stopped for the show though. I hope no one missed the show due to traffic. We luckily missed it by about five minutes.
